The recent opening of our fifth mental health clinic marks a significant milestone for us. On November 13th, Purple House Clinic (PHC) Birmingham opened its doors for the first time. With nearly a quarter of adults and over 4,500 children experiencing a mental health problem across the West Midlands, the private practice located in Coleshill is set to ease the increasing demand on NHS services whilst also benefitting the local community.

Led by Clinical Director and Clinical Psychologist, Dr Danielle Grey, PHC Birmingham will provide a range of high-quality mental health services to children, adolescents and adults. Some of you may already know Danielle from the fantastic work she has been doing with PHC Leicester and we’re thrilled to see her open PHC Birmingham. Launching with a team of highly skilled specialists, including Danielle, the clinic will quickly look to build a large multidisciplinary team to meet the ever-growing local demand for mental health support services and specialist neurodiverse assessments.

“I’m so excited that we have opened the doors to my new Purple House Clinic here in Birmingham and to be able to deliver high-quality therapy services to clients in the area,” said Danielle. “Mental health services are continuing to experience rising demand nationally and that often exceeds available capacity in both adult, children and young people’s services. Following the pandemic, many more people are recognising the importance of mental health and are seeking opportunities to access timely and tailored support, whether that be through the NHS or private services, so being able to offer such an essential service is vital.

“My aim is to build a clinic with a team of experts, including psychologists, educational psychologists and occupational therapists, to enable our clients to have access to a number of different professions working together under one roof, whether that be for therapy or neurodiverse assessments. PHC Birmingham will be a place where people can come at ease and receive high-quality psychological support.”

The new Birmingham clinic will consist of three clinic rooms, which will offer calm, quiet and safe spaces where people can work through their emotional issues in a confidential environment. Specialising in mental health therapies, PHC will offer face-to-face and online therapies to individuals and families covering anxiety, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, low self-esteem, trauma and more. Neurodiversity assessments will also be offered in the near future.

“Recently, there is growing awareness of the importance of being able to access mental health services, in fact, one in four people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England. So, being able to provide services to support individuals to improve their emotional wellbeing is incredibly exciting,” added Danielle.

Having worked for more than a decade in both the NHS and private practice to support people with mental health difficulties, Danielle is now able to utilise her experience to open the new clinic with a team of mental health professionals who can offer a range of psychological therapies, including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT).

We’re all incredibly excited to see the amazing work and the positive impact PHC Birmingham will have on their local community. For more information about PHC Birmingham and the therapies they offer, call 0121 820 7851 or click here: www.purplehouseclinic.co.uk/psychologists-birmingham.
