Rugby Clinic
Here in Rugby, our team of highly qualified and experienced Psychologists provide a range of therapy and specialist assessment services. We offer help for adult mental health and child / adolescent mental health, physical health and psychosexual difficulties. We accept private referrals as well as referrals from organisations (e.g. solicitors, insurers, schools, employers). All enquiries are treated with the utmost confidentiality.
What Do We Help With?
The Purple House Clinic provides individualised, easy to access, psychological services at the time people need help the most. We work with both adults and children, helping a range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, phobias, PTSD, complex trauma and personality issues. We can also help with physical health difficulties including adjustment to acute, chronic and life limiting illness, pain management, trauma related to ill health or treatment and birth trauma along with psychosexual issues including sexual pain disorders and erectile dysfunction. We also provide a number of specialist assessment services including assessments for ASD and ADHD.

Dr Hayley Poole

Dr Poole is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society and Health and Care Professions Council. She has over 25 years experience working in mental and physical health settings in both the NHS and in private practice. She now works fully in private practice.
Dr Poole is experienced working with people of working age (16+ years). She provides assessment and therapeutic intervention for a range of common psychological issues including depression, anxiety, stress, phobias, trauma, relationship issues, psychosexual difficulties including sexual pain disorders and sexual health and physical health issues such as adjustment to acute, chronic and life limiting illness, medication adherence and pain management.
Dr Poole works integratively drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), acceptance based interventions and person centred approaches.
Dr Poole’s role as Clinical Director at Purple House includes direct clinical work as well as many aspects of management; clinical governance, human resources and service development.

Dr Rachel Kemp is joint Director of the Purple House Clinic, Rugby. Dr Kemp is a Clinical Psychologist, Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She has 15 years of experience working in the NHS, primarily with adults in an acute physical health setting. Prior to training as a Clinical Psychologist Dr Kemp trained as a Forensic Psychologist and worked in the Prison Service for seven years.
Dr Kemp has expertise in working with adults experiencing difficulties including depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress, adjustment difficulties, physical health difficulties (e.g. long term conditions / medical trauma / psychosexual difficulties). She has also had extensive experience of working with adults who have experienced childhood attachment difficulties / traumatic childhood experiences, which continue to have an impact on life in adulthood.
Dr Kemp draws upon a number of different models in her work including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and psychodynamic ideas to offer an integrative and individually meaningful approach to clients.
Dr Kemp is experienced in providing clinical supervision and has completed accredited supervisor training. She also has experience of research, training and doctoral level teaching.
