What Does Therapy Involve?
We offer therapy to individuals, couples and families. We use evidence-based therapies, such as CBT and EMDR, delivered by highly trained Psychologists and Specialist Mental Health Nurses. Where children are concerned, we will often incorporate family members into the therapeutic work, offering family-based therapy or parenting help as required. Therapy for younger children will usually include creative techniques, for example, drawing exercises, games and stories.
Our therapy is ‘active’. Based on one or more evidence-based models; sessions are semi-structured and have specific goals and direction (it is not just a supportive counselling environment). Our clinicians are trained in several different therapies, meaning their practice is highly integrative and that clients receive a bespoke approach. They are skilled in ‘systemic’ intervention as well as individual therapies, meaning that they can work with organisations (such as schools) in order that the ‘system’ around an individual supports therapeutic change.
