Dr Grey is the Clinical Director of the Purple House Clinic in Birmingham. Dr Grey is a Clinical Psychologist and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She has experience of working in the NHS, forensic services and private practice, providing evidence-based therapy across a range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and trauma. Dr Grey is experienced in working with clients of all ages, children, adolescents and adults. Dr Grey uses several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and systemic approaches.

Dr Grey is experienced in providing clinical supervision, consultation and training. She has supported organisations to implement service development initiatives and, provided research and evaluation.

Natalie has been working in healthcare since 2013, accumulating experience in various settings such as child and adolescent mental health, adult mental health, learning disability services, and physical health. Alongside her Associate Role at the Purple House Clinic, Natalie currently works in the NHS with Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults.

Natalie fosters a collaborative environment, working with you to develop a comprehensive understanding of your difficulties and identifying factors contributing to these challenges. Tailoring her interventions to your unique needs, Natalie employs an integrative approach, drawing from various models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Additionally, Natalie provides parental support and interventions aimed at equipping parents with the necessary tools and strategies to effectively support their child through their difficulties.

Natalie offers support for a variety of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, and OCD. She has experience working with individuals who are neurodivergent and those with learning disabilities who are also facing emotional well-being challenges.

Abi has over 10 years experience in the Local Authority and additional experience in the NHS, predominantly working therapeutically with families and young people.  More recently, Abi has worked with a wide range of presenting mental health difficulties in private practice. As a family therapist, Abi is skilled in supporting families to work though problems which impact them, whether that be an acute crisis or longer term problems.

Abi works using a systemic approach, which is rooted in helping clients to explore the relationships they share with others, their relationships with themselves, or with a particular problem.

In addition to providing therapy, Abi provides systemic training and consultation.

    Dr Lauren Calder-Hanley is a Registered Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and an Associate Clinician at the Purple House Clinic. She has been employed in NHS since 2013 and has experience working with children, adolescents and adults, including working with individuals with learning difficulties, learning disabilities and/or autism. 

    Lauren can help you with a range of emotional well-being and mental health difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship difficulties, and low self-esteem/confidence. Lauren also specialises in antenatal and postnatal mental health difficulties, and can support you with birth planning, particularly if you have experienced previous abuse or birth trauma. She will work with you to develop a shared understanding of your difficulties, including considering the impact of life experiences, relationships, and society on maintaining these difficulties. She will provide a tailored approach, drawing on a range of evidence-based psychological therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Attachment informed approaches, and Systemic approaches. In addition to therapy, Lauren is also experienced in completing assessments of cognitive and adaptive functioning, which can contribute towards neurodevelopmental assessments. Lauren will work in partnership with you to help work towards your goals. 

    Alongside her role at the Purple House Clinic, Lauren has worked in a NHS Community Perinatal Mental Health Team in Birmingham since 2021, where she specialises in maternal mental health and the parent-infant relationship. Prior to this, she held roles in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, and Child and Adult Learning Disability Services.

    Dr Shana Hoque is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. She has worked within the NHS since 2008 across child, adult and specialist services.

    Dr Hoque has trained in a number of evidenced based psychological interventions (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy, Theraplay, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialetical Behaviour Therapy) in order to treat a range of mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety, complex PTSD, self harm and emotion dysregulation difficulties.

    Dr Hoque has developed a specialism in working with trauma, complex PTSD and relationship based difficulties. Dr Hoque has worked extensively with children and families who are care experienced and adopted and has a good understanding of the varied psychological needs of such individuals and the challenges to family life.

    Dr Hoque has worked at senior level for many years and forms part of the leadership of an integrated health and
    social care service helping to embed new bespoke services, lead on research projects and provide consultation,
    supervision and training as required.

    Dr. Bashir is a Clinical Psychologist registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. 

    Dr Bashir has been working in the field of psychological assessment and intervention with children and adults for over 15 years, across a range of settings including Assertive Outreach, Early Intervention in Psychosis Services, Adult Learning Disability Services, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.  Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2016 she has specialised in working with care experienced (looked-after) and adopted children, their families and the network around them. Dr Bashir has also worked significantly with parents and carers, and adults who have a history of childhood trauma themselves and who continue to experience difficulties and distress rooted in their early experience. In her trauma specialism, Dr Bashir has played a key role in developing and delivering a psychology service for local authority fostering teams and has a wealth of direct experience working therapeutically with individuals across the lifespan in different contexts, i.e. Parent Assessment Units, fostering and adoption services, educational institutions, and residential care. Dr Bashir’s roles have involved providing specialist consultations, developing and delivering training programmes (i.e., training on attachment and childhood developmental trauma, therapeutic story writing, therapeutic parenting and connecting with children through play and creativity), as well as offering specialist assessments (i.e., comprehensive psychological assessments, cognitive assessments and neurodevelopmental ASD assessments) in statutory and independent service including as an expert witness, and direct evidence based therapeutic interventions to individuals, families and groups.
