Dr Lee is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and a Chartered Psychologist. She is experienced in working with clients of all ages – adults, children and adolescents.

Dr Lee provides assessment and therapeutic intervention for a range of common psychological issues including: depression, anxiety, phobias, obsessive/compulsive problems, trauma, child behavioural problems, children and parents struggling with issues around death and dying, loss, trauma, anxiety and adjustment to chronic and life-limiting physical health conditions.

Further to qualification in 2006, Dr Lee has worked in a range of settings, both in the NHS and privately. She has a specialist interest in trauma and neuropsychological rehabilitation and has post-qualification training in Clinical Neuropsychology and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Katie is an Associate Psychologist at Purple House Nottingham. She is a Registered Clinical Psychologist, a Chartered Psychologist, and a Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist.   She has almost 30 years of experience as a clinical psychologist working with children and young people and their families who may be experiencing a range of emotional, behavioural or developmental difficulties.  She has special interests in working with families where there are neurodevelopmental difficulties, working with children with complex special needs, and children with acquired brain injury.   

 

Katie specialises in assessment and intervention with children and young people who have neurodevelopmental differences (including autism, and attention deficit disorders), and children with intellectual disability, and is skilled in working with the systems around the child or young person where a different shared understanding of the difficulties needs to be developed.  

 

Katie is also a member of the British Psychological Society’s Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists and has additional skills, training and expertise in assessing and understanding complex presentations from a neuropsychological perspective. 

 

Prior to working in private practice, Katie worked as a consultant clinical psychologist in the NHS in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, including working in a child development team and as part of a specialist autism assessment clinic.  Katie has worked in private practice for 15 years, provides training and supervision to other clinical psychologists and is the co-author of 2 books:

Mark is a chartered Clinical Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist.  

Prior to training as a clinical psychologist, Mark worked in primary care mental health services, using CBT-based interventions with adults who had common mental health problems. Since qualifying, he has worked in an inpatient assessment unit for children with moderate-severe intellectual disability (ID) and challenging behaviour, a community CAMHS team, a specialist CAMHS ID team, and a special school for autistic children. He has led autism diagnostic teams in the NHS and third sector. In addition to his role as an Associate at Purple House, he carries out teaching and research at the University of Nottingham, where he is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology.  

Mark has undertaken additional training in family therapy-based approaches, compassion focused therapy, and has foundational accreditation in Theraplay. He has also undertaken post-qualification training in supervision, facilitating reflective practice, as well as autism assessment using the ADOS-2 and ADI-R. 

Mark has published on developmental and relational approaches to working with people with ID or ASD and their families.

Dr Evetts is an Associate Psychologist at Purple House Nottingham. She is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and a Chartered Psychologist. Dr Evetts works mainly with adult clients. She continues to work part-time in the NHS as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Head of Service specialising in older people’s mental health. She provides assessment and therapeutic intervention for a range of common psychological issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, problems with relationships, physical health, grief, trauma and PTSD. She is skilled in working with complex mental health presentations including dissociative conditions as well as the impact of physical and neurological conditions. She has a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology, providing her with additional skills in assessing and understanding the neuropsychological/cognitive aspects of a person’s functioning.

Dr Wheatley is an Associate Psychologist at Purple House Nottingham. She is a HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologist and a BPS Chartered Psychologist, with full membership of the Division of Forensic Psychology. Dr Wheatley is experienced in working with clients in adulthood, who have been in, or are at risk of coming into, contact with the criminal justice system, and those who have become a victim of crime.  She provides assessments and therapeutic interventions for a range of common psychological issues, offence-related, and offending behaviours. Dr Wheatley specialises in working with those who have been stalking, or are at risk of stalking others, and is experienced in using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Focussed ACT, working in trauma-focussed ways. Dr Wheatley has published her research on stalking and continues to be active in research within her professional practice employed role at the University of Derby. She co-developed the world’s first early and preventative intervention project working with those who have stalked. She has a keen interest in progressing further preventative work to help those at risk of stalking, to desist. She has published book chapters and edited a book focussed on stalking, was lead author on the British Psychological Society resource for psychologists working with those who stalk and has been invited to speak at conferences as well as for podcasts, YouTube channels and BBC radio. She undertakes training and consultancy with external agencies and has led on professional peer supervision related to stalking, specialising in raising awareness of stalking amongst professionals and sharing best practice around engaging responsively with those who have stalked. Prior to independent practice, Dr Wheatley work for HMPPS psychology services group for 21 years, working with adult men, women, and transgender prisoners to assess risks, identify needs, and develop treatment and risk management plans. She offered interventions tailored to their needs and held roles overseeing the delivery of offending behaviour programmes. Dr Wheatley held senior manager and senior leadership roles throughout this part of her career, supervised others’ practice, developed strategies for psychologist, prison and probation staff in addressing stalking behaviours, and for developing research skills amongst psychologists. She now leads of professional psychological practice programme at the University of Derby.

Van has over 25 years’ experience in working with people aged over 18. He offers assessments and therapy tailored to the needs of individuals with a range of psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, searching for meaning, adjustment to life events. He is experienced in working with people with issues around illness, physical disability, pain management, coming to terms with infertility, diagnosis of genetic conditions, neurodiversity-in particular with autism and adults diagnosed with ADHD.

Neil is skilled in working with families to help them understand their child’s communication support needs. He supports families and school staff to come together to work towards shared outcomes for children that are achievable and ambitious. Beth Newton is an Associate Psychotherapist at Purple House Nottingham. She is a UKCP registered Gestalt Psychotherapist. Beth is experienced in and enjoys working with adult clients of all ages and various stages of life.  She provides assessment and therapeutic intervention for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, recovery from addiction, eating disorders, bereavement, low self-esteem, limiting beliefs, relationship issues, major life changes, existential issues, parenting and trauma.  Beth is experienced working with adults who have lived through complex childhood trauma, particularly childhood sexual abuse, and sexual violence. 

As a Gestalt Psychotherapist, Beth uses a relational approach with clients and is curious about what happens between her and clients in the here-and-now. Her approach is multi-faceted and responsive to each client, and may include equipping clients with strategies to alleviate symptoms, psychoeducation, reflection on current lifestyle and development of support systems, and deeper relational work that develops self-awareness and facilitates emotional expression.

Prior to becoming a therapist, Beth lived and worked in a number of different countries as a teacher. These wider experiences support her therapeutic work through sensitivity to difference and cultural bias, and an understanding of the wider context in which each client is embedded. Beth is also a former yoga teacher and long term yoga practitioner with a deep understanding of embodiment. This is integral to her work as a practitioner in supporting clients to gain awareness of their embodiment and thus move towards healthier, more integrated functioning.
