Expertise and Experience
Dr Marchant is a Clinical Psychologist practising in and around Derbyshire. She works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She works with a variety of mental health and behavioural difficulties, including common mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety. Dr Marchant specialises in working with people who have difficulties with coping with their emotions (often as a result of early traumatic / difficult experiences) and who have developed ways of coping that now cause them difficulties (for example self-harming, substance abuse). She has significant experience of working with individuals who have long-standing complex and entrenched mental health difficulties, and whose difficulties can be understood using the term "personality disorder".
Dr Marchant has extensive and varied professional experience, having worked with clients of all ages in a variety of settings, including: Adults Primary Care (out-patients), In-Patient Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), Youth Offending Service (YOS), Children with Learning Disabilities, and the Prison Service.
