Expertise and Experience
Dr Morris is the Clinical Director of Purple House. She is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and a Chartered Psychologist. Dr Morris is experienced in working with clients of all ages - adults, children and adolescents. She provides assessment and therapeutic intervention for a range of common psychological issues including depression, anxiety, phobias, obsessive/compulsive problems, trauma, and child behavioural problems. She specialises in Child Psychology, Attachment, Trauma (PTSD) and working with adults with emotional/interpersonal problems linked to childhood. She is skilled in working with complex presentations including dissociative conditions. She has a Master's qualification in Applied Neuropsychology, providing her with additional skills in assessing and understanding the neuropsychological/ cognitive aspects of a person's functioning. Dr Morris utilises several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy and Developmental Dyadic Psychotherapy. She is an accredited Schema Therapist and an accredited EMDR practitioner.
Prior to working in private practice, Dr Morris worked in the NHS for 9 years, including 4 years as a Specialist Clinical Psychologist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Dr Morris’ current role as Clinical Director is varied, involving both direct clinical work and many aspects of service development and management. She also undertakes training and consultancy with external agencies and clinical supervision.
