Expertise and Experience
Dr Morris is the Clinical Director of the Purple House Clinic. She is a Registered Clinical Psychologist (HCPC) and a Chartered Psychologist (BPS). Dr Morris is experienced in working with clients of all ages - adults, children and adolescents. She provides assessment and therapeutic intervention for a range of common psychological issues including depression, anxiety, phobias, obsessive/compulsive problems, trauma, and child behavioural problems. She specialises in Child Psychology, Attachment, Trauma (PTSD) and working with adults with emotional/interpersonal problems linked to childhood. She is skilled in working with complex presentations including dissociative conditions. She has a Master's qualification in Applied Neuropsychology, providing her with additional skills in assessing and understanding the neuropsychological/ cognitive aspects of a person's functioning. Dr Morris utilises several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy and Developmental Dyadic Psychotherapy. She is an accredited Schema Therapist and an accredited EMDR practitioner.
Prior to working in private practice, Dr Morris worked in the NHS for 9 years, including 4 years as a Specialist Clinical Psychologist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Dr Morrisโ current role as Clinical Director is varied, involving both direct clinical work and many aspects of service development and management. She also undertakes training and consultancy with external agencies and clinical supervision.
Qualifications
2009 - Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D.Clin.Psy.), University of Lincoln.
2007 - Masters of Science in Applied Neuropsychology (MSc.), with merit, University of Nottingham.
2002 - Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology (BSc. Hons.), first class, University of Essex.
